Project Work Of EPH

1.Imagine a visit place then observe the main components of eco-system such as physical, biological and socio-economic.

Answer: The place which I have imagined is :-

About Manakamana Temple

The temple and small village of manakamana is situated at top at 1302 meter hill that lies just north east of the tall Mugling, some three and half hour by bus west from kathmandu . A cable car runs from  the cable station of cheres, just 5 kilometer east of Mugling to  manakamana in 15 minutes. It is an exhilarating ride as you pass the river and up to the ridges to the top .If you want , you can return  by walking down the former well-used trak down to its exit on the gorkha road, just 1km north of the town of Abu Khareini.

Physical components of manakamana is:-

The cable car operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., stopping for lunch break from 12.00 p.m. to 13.30 p.m. On Saturdays and holidays it starts operations an hour earlier. The cost is a hefty 10 U.S. Dollars plus 14% tax for foreigners, and R250 plus tax for Nepalese citizens. This is a return fare. Single fares only apply to a sacrificial goat (R140). Hindu devotees believe that a visit to this temple will bring good luck, so expect to see many animal sacrifices at the temple entrance.

Biological components of manakamana is:-

The people  belief that the Manakamana goddess fulfills wishes is so deep-rooted in the hearts of Nepalese that they make an effort to visit the temple and the goddess as often as they can,The others are in various places like manakamana. It is said that a King of Gorkha was blessed by the goddess to get victory over small kingdoms and make a big Gorkha. The Shrine of Manakamana renovated many times over centuries has four story pagoda style roofs with entrance from the South-West. The Pujari performs daily prayers and ritual in the temple behind closed doors by offering eggs, oranges, rice, red powder and strips of cloth to the deities. The people can then make their offerings after the Pujari. The location of the Manakamana Cable Car Station is at the center from major cities in the country.

Socio-economic components is :-

There are many simple hotels and lodges in the village, all charging about R100 to R400 per room. Some even advertise hot water in attached bathrooms, but many are run down as there was a hotel building rush a few years ago and now that the cable car operates most people do not spend the night in the village. In the quietest months most restaurants will be closed and food will consist of momos or daal bhat only.

2.Draw rough sketch of that place indicating residential ares ,roads or path , vegetation and water resources.Try to find out inter-relationship among these components then describe briefly eco-system of that place ,Give yours own opinion how the quality of ecosystem is?If it is below satisfactory how can it be improved?

Ans:-There is an inter-relationship between these components i.e physical, biological and economy of this place. The physical components effects biological and economic and vice-versa.If the physical environment of a particular place is not good then of course it has impacts in its biology and if the biological environment is not good then of course it has impacts in its economical environment.

Likewise the area of manakamana and its components has inter-relation between one another. Some physical environment of this place is good while some
is bad.On the one hand, there are dense forests there which gives fresh air and keeps the envir-
onment hygienic which has effects in animals
living in those forests.

How can we balance eco-system

1.There should be made strict rules for the cleanliness of manakamana area.

2.There should be public participation.

3.Government should forcaste plans and policies for the betterment of these places.

4.The person violating the rules should be strictly punished.

5.People should respect their public properties and behave themselves with the foreign guests.

6.There should be tight security inside the temple to stop the crime.

The End
